HIV-1 capsid protein (CA)

FUNCTION
    Forms a cone-shaped shell which protects the genomic RNA and associated proteins and delivers them into the host nucleus. The conical capsid is made of twelve pentameric and over a hundred hexameric CA rings (1000-1500 molecules) .
