Assymmetric rolling circle replication

Location: Host cell nucleus.
Replication events:
Pospoviroids replicate their genome through rolling circle by a host RNA polymerase that generate linear multimers from circular RNA template. The linear multimeric (-) antigenome is directly replicated into multimeric (+) genome. These multimers are subsequently cleaved to unit-length RNAs by host RNAse.
This replication is called "assymmetric replication" since only plus strands are circularized
