Fusion of the virus primary envelope with host outer nuclear membrane during egress of herpesviruses. During egress, herpesviruses acquire a transitory, primary envelope as they bud at the inner nuclear membrane and gain access to the perinuclear space. This membrane is lost by fusing with the outer nuclear membrane during nuclear exit.
