Tulasviridae (taxid:2946177)

VIRION

Unknown, discovered using viral metagenomics. Presumably non enveloped.

GENOME

image

Negative-stranded RNA linear genome, about 12 kb in size. Encodes for three proteins.

Enzymes: RNA dependent RNA polymerase, endonuclease? (Cap snatching)

GENE EXPRESSION

The genome is ambisens. The viral RNA dependent RNA polymerase (L) binds to a promoter and transcribes a messenger RNA. Transcription is terminated by a strong hairpin sequence at the end of each gene. mRNAs are capped, probably by L protein during synthesis.

ENZYMES

REPLICATION

CYTOPLASMIC

  1. The ribonucleocapsids enters a cell by Fungal intercellular connetions
  2. Transcription, viral mRNAs are capped in the cytoplasm.
  3. Replication presumably starts when enough nucleoprotein is present to encapsidate neo-synthetized antigenomes and genomes.
  4. The ribonucleocapsids is transmitted to another cell by Fungal intercellular connetions
