GENOME
Segmented linear dsRNA genome 4 to 8 segments of 0.8 kb to 2.5 kb, coding for 4 to 8 proteins. The + strand RNA strand is capped at 5'. The total size of the segments is between 7.5 kb and 12.5 kb.

Each segment encodes for one protein.
