Viruses from this phylum are viruses using reverse transcription, and are characterized by the reverse-transcriptase (PFAM RTase_1). The capsids belongs to retrotranscribing-like lineage and are icosahedral with T=3 to T=7 symmetry or pseudo-icosahedral.
