Gammapleolipovirus (taxid:1911606)

VIRION

image

Enveloped, spindle-shaped particles of 44 x 67 nm in size.

GENOME

Linear dsDNA genome of 16 kb, encoding 35 ORFs. Contains inverted terminal repeat sequences and terminal proteins attached to the genome ends.

GENE EXPRESSION

The ds DNA genome is probably transcribed by host RNA polymerase.

ENZYMES

REPLICATION

CYTOPLASMIC

  1. Virus attaches to host cell, and genomic DNA penetrates into the cytoplasm.
  2. Presumably the ssDNA is converted to dsDNA.
  3. Transcription of viral genes, possibly by a host RNA polymerase.
  4. Genome replication, possibly by replication of the DNA genome by DNA strand displacement
  5. Assembly and release of virions.
