Yuyuevirus (taxid:2508253)

VIRION

Unknown, discovered using viral metagenomics. Presumably non enveloped.

GENOME

image

Segmented negative-stranded RNA linear genome, RNA1 segment is about 6.5kb, RNA2 segment about 1.3kb
Encodes for two proteins.

GENE EXPRESSION

Viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (L) binds to a promoter on each segment and transcribes a messenger RNA. Genomic RNA is possibly encapsidated by ORF2.

ENZYMES

REPLICATION

NUCLEAR or CYTOPLASMIC

  1. Virus invades host cells by unknown mechanism: genomic segments are released in cytoplasm.
  2. Transcription
  3. Replication
  4. Unknown mechanism of propagation.
