VIRION
Unknown, discovered using viral metagenomics. Presumably enveloped.
GENOME
Segmented Negative-stranded RNA linear genome, RNA1 segment is about 7 kb, RNA2 segment about 4.7 kb Encodes for four proteins.
GENE EXPRESSION
Viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (L) binds to a promoter on each segment and transcribes a messenger RNA. Genomic RNA is possibly encapsidated by ORF2.
REPLICATION
ENZYMES
- RNA-dependent RNA polymerase [L]
- Mononega-type capping
- RNA TPase, GTase, N7 Mtase, 2'O Mtase [L]
NUCLEAR or CYTOPLASMIC
- Virus invades host cells by unknown mechanism: genomic segments are released in cytoplasm.
- Transcription
- Replication
- Unknown mechanism of propagation.
