Riboviria

Members of the realm Riboviria share the defining feature of encoding an RNA-dependent polymerase, essential for replication of their RNA genomes. The group includes both RNA viruses and those that replicate via reverse transcription. Classification into seven phyla is based on similarities in their polymerase sequences.

The seven different phyla can be associated with classification of protein families (PFAM).
